Homecoming Parade

One of the most sacred homecoming week traditions is the Homecoming Parade during the afternoon on the Friday of the game. The parade begins at the high school and winds around to the intermediate school. Students from every Oak Mountain school, parents, and community leaders attend this event.

Dodgeball

The dodgeball tournament is an event held only for the upperclassmen. Teams of 10 players square off in a head to head elimination tournament until only two teams are left to determine who will be the champion: Juniors or Seniors.

Powderpuff

Powder Puff is a homecoming rivalry unlike any other. Set in a picturesque location on campus with Oak Mountain State Park in the background, Senior girls versus Junior girls, with the varsity football players as coaches. The band, cheerleaders, concessions, announcers, a coin toss, and even the National Anthem, just as if it was a Friday night football game! The game is held on the soccer field so there's plenty of space for all the students, faculty, and parents to come watch and enjoy some good 'ole girl fight club. Whichever grade comes out on top, gets bragging rights along with 50 points added to their grade weekly total!

The sophomore v freshmen soccer game pits underclassmen against one another in one of the most exciting soccer matches you will ever see. With a beautiful backdrop of Oak Mountain State Park, the soccer game is one of the favorite new events added to the homecoming lineup.

Video Game Tournament

A brand new competition: for two days students of all grades can compete in a video game tournament for homecoming points. This is one of the newest and most popular homecoming activities!

Talent Show

Oak Mountain hosts an annual talent show on the Friday of Homecoming Week for all students to attend. There are so many great acts, from singing, dancing, one-act plays, to even stand up comedy. This is one of the favorite traditions of every student.

Pep Rally

There is NOTHING like the Friday Gameday Pep Rally! The pep rally takes place almost immediately after the Homecoming Parade. There are student competitions, cheers, teacher skits, and tons and tons of school spirit. The pep rally is capped off by every student meeting in the middle of the gym floor, embracing and singing the Oak Mountain Alma Mater. There is no experience that can come close to this!
